Breakfast with John McNeur

We often hear stories from people who have faced cancer and survived. This conversation is different.

John McNeur has spent many years working in the Northern Territory disability sector. He is a remarkable individual who has given to the community in so many ways over so many years. In 2025, John was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and has been given a prognosis that is unlikely to see him reach Christmas.

What has struck those around John is not simply the diagnosis, but the way he is choosing to face it — with remarkable positivity, honesty, generosity, grace and a strong sense of purpose.

In this special, once-in-a-lifetime conversation, John will share his experience of living with a terminal diagnosis, what it has changed for him, what he has learned along the way, and what he wants others to know. This will be a conversation about life, perspective, relationships, courage and making the most of the time we have.
