Our latest Networking Session with Yvette Roe was a powerful conversation about leadership, resilience and the experiences that shape us.
Yvette spoke openly about trauma, grief, parenting, failure and happiness, with one message coming through strongly: we are often our own harshest critics. She reminded us that we are not our work, that we are allowed to be flawed, and that the values we expect from others — respect, compassion and generosity — need to be values we practise on ourselves too.
The conversation also highlighted the importance of genuine networks. We need to invest in one another, cheer other women on and help people recognise the strengths they may not see in themselves.
And when we get knocked down, we get back up.
But perhaps the simplest message was also the most powerful: You are enough, just as you are now.
Thank you to Yvette for sharing so openly and generously. There were plenty of little gems to take away — and plenty to reflect on.
