Walk. Talk. Pave the Way.
We’re excited to launch Pave the Way, a new community initiative bringing women across Darwin together for mentoring walks.
The idea is simple: women walking side by side, creating connections, sharing experiences, building confidence, and supporting each other’s personal and professional journeys.
We’re currently inviting women to join our sessions as:
- Mentors – share your knowledge and experiences
- Mentees – step forward, connect, and grow
Whether you’re just starting out, changing direction, or have years of wisdom to share, this community is about walking together and paving the way for new possibilities.
Register your interest to join as a mentor or mentee, and Pave the Way for the next generation of women
Frequently Asked Questions
Pave the Way is a community initiative that connects women across Darwin through relaxed mentoring walks. The idea is simple, women walking side by side, sharing experiences, supporting each other, and paving the way for new opportunities.
Pave the Way is open to all women across Darwin, regardless of career stage, industry, or experience level. Whether you’re just starting out, changing direction, or have years of experience to share, everyone is welcome. We embrace an inclusive understanding of womanhood, welcoming trans women, non-binary and gender non-conforming people, and anyone who identifies as a woman in a way that is meaningful to them.
A mentoring walk is an informal conversation that happens while walking together. Instead of sitting in a meeting room, participants connect outdoors, making it easier to talk, share ideas, and learn from each other.
Not at all. Mentors come from a range of backgrounds and experiences. If you’re open to sharing what you’ve learned and keen to support another woman’s journey, you can be a mentor.
Most mentoring walks will run for around 45–60 minutes, giving enough time for meaningful conversation while keeping it relaxed and accessible.
We endeavour to match all applicants depending on the applicants’ interest and/or expertise area. There may be up to three (3) mentees per mentor.
Walks will take place at safe, accessible locations around Darwin, such as local parks, waterfront paths, and other community walking spaces.
The frequency will depend on interest, but the goal is to host regular walks throughout the year so women can continue building connections and learning from each other.
Pave the Way is designed to be a free community initiative so that as many women as possible can take part
