This month, participants in the 2025–26 Mentoring Program came together for their final mentor and mentee check-in sessions, marking the conclusion of a rewarding 12-month journey of learning, growth and connection.
The check-in sessions have been a valuable feature of the program, providing mentors and mentees with a supportive environment to connect with their peers, share experiences, ask questions and learn from one another. These sessions have encouraged open conversations about professional challenges and opportunities, helping participants build confidence and expand their networks.
The impact of the program has been evident across the cohort. Participants have reported significant personal and professional growth, with feedback consistently highlighting the value of having a trusted mentor, access to diverse experiences and the opportunity to reflect on their career aspirations. The mentors have reflected on their own learning through the program, stimulated by having to reflect on how they go about things, what approach they would take, and the lessons they have learned from past experiences and challenges.
One of the most positive and unexpected outcomes has been the strong relationships that have formed among the wider cohort. Through the regular check-in sessions, mentors and mentees have developed connections beyond their individual mentoring partnerships, creating a supportive peer network that has strengthened throughout the year.
