Lunch with Fiona Simson

The first ‘Lunch with Leaders’ session kicked off with the fabulous, Fiona Simson, who has demonstrated significant success as a local, national, and international leader.

Fiona stepped down from a 7-year tenure as the first female President of the National Farmers’ Federation in 2023 and is currently Oceania representative and Vice President of the World Farmers’ Organisation.

Fiona reflected on her own experiences, passing on many tips to those who were fortunate to attend the session. Fiona highlighted how important it is to work out what kind of leader you want to, to be true to your passions and your values, and to always be on the look out for opportunities to extend or align your leadership. She emphasised surrounding yourself with people who compliment your skills, and the importance of listening to others and bringing people along on the journey.
