Today, saw us kick off the NABS mentoring program with a mentee introduction session! This is going to be another spectacular year, with 24 pairs of mentors and mentees involved in the program. Today’s session focused on what the mentees should expect from the program, planning and preparation, with a real emphasis on considering their goals over the next 12 months. We were joined by the fabulous, Lauren Kaye, who reflected on her experiences last year – and who provided advice for those starting out this year.

One thing that really stood out to me from the program was the emphasis on building genuine connections. Not only do you have the opportunity to learn from really experienced mentors but Anne sets a relational tone from the outset

What that means is it’s a safe space to have all of those conversations around wellbeing, core values and working out how you want to show up in the world.

I was so inspired by this that I started a peer networking group here at work for people in a similar career position to me. So we’ve been catching up for coffee to share our insights and build our networks and work out how we are going to navigate the transitions in our early careers. The program gives you all of the tools and support to really take charge of your career. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

A massive thanks to Lauren for giving up her time to speak with us today – and to the mentors and mentees for this year’s program – you are amazing and we are so excited to be part of this journey with you!
