In October 2025, Anima Co., in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, welcomed 77 stakeholders from across northern Australia and beyond to the 3rd annual Northern Australia Biosecurity Strategy (NABS) Roundtable in Cairns. This important event united government representatives, industry leaders, Indigenous groups, and community members to share insights, collaborate, and address critical biosecurity challenges facing the north.

The Roundtable showcased a range of innovative initiatives under the NABS framework and featured an inspiring lineup of speakers:

• Troy Garling on Indigenous engagement and myth-busting (see Engaging with Indigenous Communities for Biosecurity).
• Anne Leadbeater sharing practical insights on recovery and resilience.
• Yakub Sebastian presenting data projects from Charles Darwin University Masters students.
• An industry panel with Allison Dakin, Gavin Mackay, and Shaun Jackson, offering on-the-ground perspectives on biosecurity challenges and opportunities.
